Sometimes we take things for granted. Ok, a lot of times we do. I was just in the middle of doing a man-chore around the house and had a moment. Our washing machine had been acting up and not draining properly so what did I do? Took it apart of course! The bottom panel was a PITA to get off because the screws are right on the ground so you can’t get your screw gun on them. I had to lift up the washer with one hand and place some of Shondra’s useless books (you know, the kind with words in them!) under it so I could access the screws. After I had “fixed” the washer and removed the books/blocks I realized that it would have taken 3 fully grown World of Warcraft players to accomplish what I had just done with one hand. Although I received no “points” or “gold” for this task, I felt pretty good about myself.
What have you done recently that made you realize the fitness gains that you have made through CrossFit?
I’m off to clean up more water…
The visual for this made me LOL and I chocked on my almonds that I was munching on.
In general, I see my strength getting up there through the wods. I had NEVER done a 65# thruster before or a 105# clean. SUPER STOKED.
In life, I think I realized it when I was helping move stuff around the house and was picking up heavy looking things like armchairs with ease and the man of the house looking at me with WTF eyes. Love it
Right on Shiela! Strong women are awesome!
Ok.. So I guess its not bragging since you asked. But I WAS a gymnast when I was a very small girl. (not into teenage years or highschool, or even close) After I had a couple of the kids, I went to gymnastics class, and was so disappointed that I was no longer “Strong” enough to do the flips I knew my body should be capable of. Last week, when a bunch of us went to gymnastics class, I did 5 tricks that I literally had not done in 25 years. Its ALL because of Conviction Crossfit. Thanks guys.
Leandra Tapia de la Rosa West, you are still a very small girl. 25 years? How old are you, 40?
DAMN it, Justin. 8+25 = 33. Common, Math major. Keep up! Yes, I AM 33!
