Jody said something extremely smart yesterday. She said, “I can go for 6 miles no problem, but don’t ask me to run ten 110′s. That’s hard!”
That’s the difference between jogging and actually running. You can jog for a long time, but actual running takes effort and intensity. If you’re not sure whether you are jogging or running–speed up. On that note, great job on the Monday WOD! You all sped up! The jogging/running thing also correlates to CrossFit vs. other stuff quite well. The intensity is where the results come from. I used to go to the gym and “pump iron” for hours with no intensity. My biceps were pretty. I trained one specific pathway and nothing else. I could move a lot of weight, but please don’t ask me to do anything of much intensity. If you have been at this CrossFit thing for awhile and haven’t quite seen the results that you are after, then it’s one of 2 things holding you back: intensity, nutrition…or a combination of the 2. Let us know if you have any concerns about your progress and these 2 issues and we’ll be glad to talk it over with you.
We are still reviewing the food logs and tallying up points. If you haven’t turned in food logs, please do so. You can’t get the cash if you don’t turn in your log!
