Great turnout yesterday morning! Having a large class makes it so much more fun! Keep bringing friends, family, neighbors, etc. to get a taste! I’d like to hold a “Workout in the Park” sometime very soon to give people a chance to experience CrossFit and not be intimidated by going to a gym. Does anyone have any suggestions as to a good park with plenty of space and obstacles (benches, picnic tables, etc.)?
If you’ve been CrossFitting for awhile, you’ve probably seen the typical AMRAP 10, AMRAP 15, AMRAP 20…we’re not typical here. AMRAP 19 is how we do things.
WOD
AMRAP 19 min
KB Carry (35/55)
10 Push Ups (you)
KB Carry (35/55)
10 Sit Ups (you)
Every 4 minutes you will stop and have 1 minute to complete 3 reps of clean and jerk (95/135). At the end of the 1 minute clean and jerk, you will return to the AMRAP.
Longtime Erie CrossFitter that has a garage gym setup. I’d say go to Mitchell Park by the Erie Rec Center…nice 1/2 mile crushed paver loop and plenty of boulders and playground equipment.
Thanks for the suggestion Geoff. I’ve played softball there a few times and that is a really nice park. Drop in for a WOD sometime!
I may have to drop in, you guys just recently opened right? Always nice to have a group to WOD with and push you…my CF skills have gone a bit downhill as I’m training for a 4.5 mile trail run and half-marathon…not CFing as much as normal.
